To be found not far from the Vondelpark main gate, this small classic hotel undergoes now (June of 2008) a renovation of its outside façade. We decided to place it on our list, because Hotel Vondel has an attractively decorated interior and is very conveniently positioned in Amsterdam centre, near to the busyLeidseplein, yet in a quiet small street.Situated in the end of 19th c. townhouse, Hotel Vondel combines a classic taste with a nice trendy touch, characteristic for the boutique hotels. It has an elegant lounge, restaurant for light meals and a bar, with 5 floors above, accessible with the lift. Its 69 rooms are not big, but well planned and cozy, with redesigned bathrooms. Vondel Hotel also has a Junior Suite and a big suite called a XXL Room. Rooms on the ground floor may seem sometimes noisy, but rooms above are usually quiet and full of comfort.
Additional facilities include: international newspapers (in the lobby), WiFi Internet, mini-bar (consumptions are not included in the price of the room), bicycles for rent, business services, conference room. The outdoor patio in the backyard of the hotel welcomes you during the summer. Nearby fitness centre is available at discount rates.
As Vondel Hotel is located directly at the Byzantium parking garage, it is a good residence to stay when traveling to Amsterdam by car.The location of the Vondel Hotel just at the Amsterdam edge of the canal ring is its great asset. Not only Leidseplein and Vondelpark are nearby. TheMuseum Quarter is at 5 minutes walking distance, PC Hooftstraat even closer, Dam square at 20 minutes.
Hotel Vondel is a non smoking establishment. You are requested not smoke even in your room.
