Trianon Hotel has an elevator, which is uncommon for a small hotel in Amsterdam, but be cautious when you make a reservation - some of the double rooms have bunk beds – an attraction for children, a problem for the elderly guests. The hotel offers an Internet corner (paid use) and a WiFi in the lobby; however in the rooms on the higher floors the signal is weak.
The main asset of the Trianon Hotel is its location. South Amsterdam is an elegant part of Amsterdam and especially the area close to the hotel called Museum Kwartier (Museum Quarter) is quiet and well kept. Within five minutes walking distance you are on the elegant P.C. Hooftstraat with its best fashion shops, Van Baerlestraat with its brasseries and restaurants, Cornelis Schuytstraat with its unique atmosphere of the chic cafés, delicatessen, bookshops and flower shops. Concertgebouw is just across the street and all important museums are in a short walking distance. The old centre is within 10 minutes walk. There are some parking possibilities in the streets around the hotel (metered parking).
All together – Trianon is an inexpensive hotel featuring exceptionally small rooms. Staying there, you should treat it as a basic sleep in place, and look for attractions elsewhere. You will certainly succeed, because Hotel Trianon is located in a pleasant, classy area of Amsterdam.
